Hospitality: Buffet Menu Labels...Mini Canvas Art on Mini Easels

 Friday, November 23, 2012

Hospitality...it can become a lost art in homes these days. We can make our lives so busy, that we forget this precious command, that blesses others as well as ourselves. My husband and I began learning a lot about hospitality from different sermons at church, and going over the different verses from the Bible where hospitality is not only mentioned, but commanded to be a part of our lives. As we have reconstructed our schedule to make hospitality a priority, it has blessed us so richly!

When I think we're too busy to offer the hospitality, it is good to remember the lives of those from the past who made such a difference by practicing hospitality. I read of Sarah Edwards, the famous theologian Jonathan Edward's wife, who almost always had someone in their home, and her husband was definitely a busy man. This couple had such an impact on many who came through their home, and they were just being faithful to the commands laid out for them.

I have so much to learn in the area of hospitality, but some points I have learned so far are the following: Your house need not be immaculate, nor does the meal have to be overly fancy and detailed. The heart of hospitality is the fellowship with one another and the conversation being geared to encouraging one another.

Our children absolutely love when we have people in our home! One of my daughter's favorite parts, is putting out these Buffet Menu Labels that I created. This idea comes from the desire to add that special little touch when entertaining the precious ones in your home. Also, even if you only have time to make a simple meal, these pretty little pieces of art will dress up your meal without any work involved, except for putting them out.

Here is a set of hand-painted mini canvases with mini easels featuring a detailed picture and elegant writing to add that unique touch when having friends and family in your home. When serving a buffet, add these "menu labels" to entice your guests to the cuisine you are offering. The canvases are the perfect size at 3" x 4", and the easels present them well. Included are the following mini canvases, each with an easel: Coffee, Tea, Beverages, Hor d'oeuvres, Salad, Sides, Bread, The Main Course, and Desserts.
I can also do custom orders with other words and background colors, even different pictures. Please indicate that in the special requests/questions box.

Set or Single?
Word/picture for single canvas
"Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality."
Romans 12:9-14
